Interesting.

Take a look around the Graphics and Artwork sections, and see if you can make something out of the concept sketches that have been posted.

Welcome to W4W, by the way.

I still have my original Machines disks and manual....

It's a start.

Perhaps these would be better posted in the "Graphics and Modelling" section of the Ideas board, considering that we aren't exactly in development yet (we don't even know which unit/structure ideas we are going to go with, so we need some pre-models to look at to make our decision).

Yeah I don't think that is what he had in mind when drawing that. I think it should be more mechanical and less organic looking, more like sharp edges than a blob kinda thing. Also the middle bit should be a lot bigger, imo.

You are right... It is more mechincal looking...
As for that in the middle. It's more like a giant ball that sits on the round thing (what's it called?? :|).

The research lab. has to many polys... Now there are what 3-4k polys. (Hope I didn't miss that to much. :-P)
Remove the tings on the top and I think it'll look Ok.

Ohh. And wellcome to the forums. :-)
Hope you'll have a nice stay here.

Cheers

Ohh... And sory for my bad english. :-P

Yes yes, I meant the platform that the ball forms on should be bigger!

where you from, Dave, mate?

Anyway, I like to think of drawing (I dunno a fuck about 3D modelling) as 'you'll draw better if you DON'T follow conventions like they teach in art class and pay more attention to detail than technique'. But then again that is what kind of drawer I am and while I guess I am above average, I am nowhere near good enough to do official drawings for things the same way people who follow techniques do ;)

cheers!

I've got some 3d graphics too. they are supposed to look just like the ones from the first machines though...

sorry the images aren't here... I cant get the stupid images to display!!

could somebody PLEASE tell me how to show images directly from my computer??
Have you checked out any of my mods?
-If not, it's probably because I haven't uploaded any.

You can't.

Use the boards attachment system, or upload them to Imageshack or similar.
