That's obvious he was joking there. Anyone else is getting frustrated because of the spammers?
What about registration which an admin has to accept? It would solve the problem, don't you thnik?
Just use a captcha at the registration page...
Like everyone's doing these days =P
CAPTCHAs seem like a good idea to me too.
I don't think admin approved registrations are a good idea, since not a lot of people come back now and the admins might not want a billion registration emails every so often (i.e. Spambot registrations, a real pain for admin-approved registrations).
I tried that on a forum I used to run and it didn't work out since I after awhile got tired of all those emails (tons of them, before I got a GMail account).
CAPTCHAs work okay, but I no longer run a forum so I don't know how effective it really is (sure, people say they are the best way, but that's only cause it's gotta be easy for other people to pass it, otherwise no one would be registering anymore, and then everyone would be saying how horrible CAPTCHAs are).
I also think that the forum boards really need to be locked down or limited somehow (however, it's been a few years since I ran a forum, but I think I ran it really tight).
Those are just my ideas, though...
By the way, did you notice that Mr. 'Tricky Spambot' had made a rather revealing and crucial error in his spam-post? He referred to a game called 'Rome', which as we all obviously know neither to be the title of our game (it's Machines, for goodness sake) nor of a non-existent expansion pack or spin-off.
So, because of that fact, he must be a spambot and must be eliminated.
