Machines Live Discs
« on: July 02, 2006, 11:43:31 pm »
I have sucessfully ran machines live from a single cd, (cinematics included). Here's how.

WARNING: YOU CANNOT HAVE MAC INSTALLED OTHERWISE THIS WILL NOT WORK, ALSO TRAINER WILL NOT WORK.

1. Check the machines folder it should be about 534 mb

2. If the folder is not 534 mb copy the flics folder from the 2nd machines disc straight to the directory machines.

3. Make an empty file in notepad and call it setupy.bin set the pull down box to all files. Put the machines folder onto a cd, maybe add a shortcut on the root directory.

4. Burn the CD

5. Enjoy, it will be slower than machines on the harddrive but it will work for places where you cannot install machines

This is old news. Live CDs have already been made. This also does not belong in the news section.

No live cd's have been made before just a cd bypass using setupy.bin.

This is not true. I have been playing on a live cd version of machine created using this method:

I copied CD 2 and merged its ISO content with Machines installed folder.
This made the game playable with all cinematics. I had to do 2 cds because I have 2 pcs with different screen resolutions.
niente dovr? fermarci questa volta!
