Aww man I just got here. I hope it's not dead.

Keep your hopes up, my man ;)

I, for one, am still scavenging on these ruins, along with some other member, such as X-lord, Mahmoud, and, I believe, Franky2000.

But yeah... This place used to... Live, if you'd call it so...

But above all, keep your hopes up! We have not been forgotten yet! We'll rise... With your help, we can get there.

Also, if you want to battle any of us, just download GameRanger. It helps a lot to counter the problems that Machines has with trying to launch multiplayer games...

Maybe a somewhat more important question first: you still dealing with any (of the several) issues yet?

I've been having problems with that DirectPlay Error on gameranger, X-Lords fix on the Gameranger thread didn't really help either.

We got it working with VictimOfTheSystem :) I opened Gameranger ports, and turned off DPE for machines.exe and gameranger.exe(users->name->AppData->resources?->GameRanger). Try this then :)

Instead of 'Resources', it should be 'Roaming'...

On my pc, anyways =P

But I don't know if it's worth posting... I mean, when was the last time he's come online?...

EDIT: just 2 days ago? Why hasn't he posted in this thread, yet?...

if you guys can show all the steps you need to take to fix gameranger on a separate thread titled "how to use gameranger" I think that'd be useful as a reference :)

There's nothing in need of 'fixing', just follow X-lord's advice!

This forum has seen better days, no doubt about that.

If you'd like to truly resurrect Machines, we'd need to revamp the Machines Download System to be free of registration (that means download mirrors... free download mirrors). We'd also need to get multiplayer working *seamlessly*. I never had GameRanger work perfectly without experiencing any kind of trouble. If there are steps to make it easier that can be implemented in the MDS, this could help to construct a much stronger online community of Machines players.

Do know that I wouldn't close the forum without first publishing the forum database for public download. Or asking for donations.

Regards.

I understand and respect your decision.
Also, I was thinking about making an 'officialMachines' channel on youtube, containing actual gameplay and 'amateur'-created models and put links to this forum. Of course, we're gonna have to... popularize the videos, if there's a ways to do it.

How do we get official? Some other guys in (if I'm not mistaken) Canada just own the machines "rights," so we can't legally claim to be official machines anything. We would have to make the spring version in order to call ourselves official owners or whatever of machines.

Some company bought out at least half of Acclaim's copyrights, and that company may or may not be in canada...
