Hello!
« on: March 07, 2010, 02:46:32 AM »
Hello there!

I am XANA. I bought Machines back in 1999, and I have liked it ever since (sounds like a lot of people here, doesn't it?).

Anyhoo, It's now 2010 and I no longer have access to my Win98 computer (I first replaced it with a Win2000 computer, then XP when that one came out, and now finally I run Vista on my newest machine).

I've been trying for a couple months now with no luck to play this awesome game again on Vista (I've tried all the publicly available patches, tried Vista's compatibility mode with every setting available), I now come to you all in the hopes that you will be able to help me get Machines working on Vista!

I have gotten past the point of the first error message ("machines.exe is not a valid Win32 application"), and am now currently stuck with a memory error problem (I can't get a copy of the error message seeing as how it exits soon after displaying that message).

I trust that this game will survive for a long, long time here on this website. :)

Let's continue this over in the Support forum, as this is not the right place to keep discussing support issues like the one I've got. :D

Here is a link to my support topic.
