Dear Machines enthusiasts,

I'm trying to run Machines on Windows Xp using the XP patch located on http://www.sturreal.co.uk/index.php but everytime I do it I get an error message like this:

Quote
Application Error: C:\Archivos de programa\Acclaim Entertainment\Machines\machines.exe

The instruction at 00431c6e referenced memory at 00000000
The memory could not be read from

Click on OK to terminate the application

This makes my system to hang.

Does anybody know how to get rid of this problem?

Regards,

Juan

Yes, I do.

By the way, I've found these two patches (http://www.savefile.com/filehost/projects.php?pid=111409) and now Machines seems to work but after playing the game for about 5 minutes my PC hangs.
Any idea? It's getting complicated  :(

This happened to me before. The fix for me was to install new video drivers, and then reinstall machines. Those are some interesting things you found... especially the mcfgtool. I wonder if this could lead to us being able to modify machines.

Didn't the route of the problem give that one away?

Application Error: C:\Archivos de programa\Acclaim Entertainment\Machines\machines.exe
