I never have problems with windows. No one uses Linux and if they do they can get programs that allow for XP games to run in it, right?

At a similar speed to on a 1.3GHz processor with 8meg graphics, yes, they can.

I still have my original Machines disks and manual....

You haven't done your research.

At Aug 19 2007 13:41:29 GMT, there are
136094
users registered
152321
machines registered

Estimated amount of Linux users:
Twenty-nine million.

In my VMWare machine I have 64 mb of graphical memory, although that doesn't mean I can run anything heavy-duty.
With Cedega, I can run some of the newer games, but many still don't work.

i think windows XP should be made for M2 first seeing as most users will be using this, rather than vista (change can happen though)

29 million, that's only like the population of Canada. Nothing.

I don't think our M2 game will be overly demanding, will it?

Isn't 64Mb of graphical memory... Terrible? My 128 Mb graphical memory is really bad.
Anyway, You should work on XP, and Vista because it will be much more commonly used when you complete Machines 2 if you do, and of course you need to put it on Mac's and Linux's.

I don't remember saying that it was good. :P

I have 256 megs of graphical memory hard-ware wise. It also depends on the kind of card you have.

Is that really that bad?

Gosh, we must be living in the stone age here - in my household, almost everything has a 32Meg graphics card.

My new laptop (the newest in the house) has 64megs dedicated graphics memory, plus shared system memory up to 256.

I still have my original Machines disks and manual....

No, no it's not. My laptop's got 64, the one in the basement's got 32...
It really depends on what you use it for.
It's not really the best if you're running, say, Doom 3. :P

It's windows, right? Go to start, run, typ in Dxdiag. You can go to the different tabs and they tell you information like video card, processor speed, storage, memory, etc...

How come when I try to edit, it doesn't let me? I click on the edit sign, then it says loading. I give it a lot of time, it doesn't load. Then I realized at the lower left corner, it says done, meaning it's not loading anything. Why is that? I can't edit!

If you're using a theme other than the default, and you're trying to use the button, it's not going to work because that particular theme is deprecated.

Just use the button.

After being away for a mere week, things have changed loads: talking about what kind of a game Machines 2 will be has changed to talking about the specifications of your PC's, is this to do with the original subject, however, just to show off I have a 256 MB Geforce 7900 Gsomething graphics card, and 1GB of system memory, apart from that the rest is rubbish (ie. the CPU and Motherboard). Anyway, Linux is definitely better than Windows, the only reason that most people don't like it is that the GUI is usually dodgy and the one in vista is flashier. What they don't realise is that the GUI is what wastes all of the system resources. Also there is the small matter of most windows programs not working on it without things like WINE. So in general, although Linux is better programming-wise, security-wise, multitasking-wise, reliability-wise, stability-wise, cost-wise and 'NOTBEINGMICROSOFTSOFTWARE-wise' etc. Windows gets all of the points
