Sorry I'm taking so long on that banner/background/models.  I finally got together with my friend and reinstalled Machines after I lost it, so now I have a picture to make a banner from.  I'll have one soon :)
(Please note that I did not post this just to get the disks, however short and obvious it may seem ;))

I've been busy lately, but I finally got to making a banner!  I am not sure exactly what you want, but how's this?  You might want to scale it down to about 66%

EDIT:  Sorry about the double post :-(

I suppose I could do rules...
I like balancing things out, plus I've played a whole lot of RTS games and thus have seen alot of different ways to do it.
Personally I just think my skills are better suited in that area.
But I am trying to learn how to model too, so don't fill up that graphics spot...save me a seat!

Wow, I see that and I think:
"Hey, Jabor posted this."

That's the idea. On this board in particular it's especially useful, as your eye is drawn more to the persons title-picture (which is not unique) instead of the avatar to work out who they are, thus you can't tell at a glance who posted a particular post. The symbol provides a way around that.

[/offtopic]

Yeah I think I'd also like to play a minor part in the rules/balancing section. Not so much making the rules as checking over them and refining others ideas ^^ More people need to submit stuff in fan art so you prove you can draw better than me so I don't have to draw nasty vehicles and machines and humans which I suck at :(

Shush you

While you're at it, add me in as head of flavour.

PS: While you're at it, you might as well make me lead of offtopic posting, just for a laugh.

Head of flavour - pretty much tied in with storyline/settings isn't it? And would you have to follow what the combination of storyline and artwork dictates, or do you think you would dictate the storyline and artwork? ^^

I think I have done a decent amount of work on the flavour and atmosphere/character/etc. of the races, game, and setting, and so has 3DFreak, I think. ^^

Also - I am wondering how much power the leaders have - because we have been running on a basic premise of 'the group decides' right now, and leaders don't seem to fit that unless you just mean the leaders co-ordinate everyone, make sure they're on task, and the actual content of the work is up to the members.

Yeah I wouldn't mind being put in the Rules section but just a minor part to tweak ideas or add some minor ones as I'm fairly familiar with a few RTS and FPS games and how they work and why they worked well and it would just add some experience and knowledge of games that others may have not played. I am thinking if there are only 1 or 2 people in that section the rules will end up being like their favourite RTS or FPS game :P Having too many different backgrounds might cause some arguments and slow progress though :P

The way I see it, head of [foo] has pretty much the final call on any contentious issues related to [foo], dictates the general direction of [foo], and keeps everyone working on [foo] on-task and working.

Basically the group decides, but if it can't come to a decision the leader makes the call.

As head of flavour, I would dictate the general direction of storyline and artwork, make a final call on whether the Unknown should look like this or like that, set the boundaries for what can be done within the setting of the game and what is off-limits, etc.

Head of rules would pretty much balance things out, decide what abilities should be granted to units as well as which are too broken to put in and which are too weak to bother with, and oversee the playtesting and subsequent tweaking of individual unit stats to finally balance the game out.

Head of flavour?

And I don't think you can just call yourself leader unless more people agree

(20 Minutes Experience of Photoshop in my entire life remember :P)

Jabor, you're slightly wrong:
The Group + Leader figure out everything out together for the section they're in. So there's no hierarchy here.
The Leaders job is to make sure the group does what they have to do and, if people have to vote, and there's a 50/50 vote end-result then the leader has 2 votes instead of one. Everything that's finished the leader has to present to the Director.

So:
Quote
The way I see it, head of [foo] has pretty much the final call on any contentious issues related to [foo], dictates the general direction of [foo], and keeps everyone working on [foo] on-task and working.
No, No and Yes, The Director has the final call and he tells you what you should do. You have to make sure everything runs smooth and that everything in done before the given dead-line.

Yes, if the group can't decide, then the leader has 2 votes instead of one.

The director gives the general direction, you have to come out with something solid. The leader merely "guides" his team to results. The leader only makes a final call when the team+leader can't come to a conclusion. The team is perfectly in state to decide if a unit should look like "this" or "that'. You just make sure they decide before the dead-line.

The Rules-team can do all that.

Well. I've not introduced myself.

I've watched this project a year long and now I want to help out to get this project running.
The next thing I did is to contact "judas". He agreed to restart the project.
Calling me a head of development is not really right. I'm a programmer and I'm interested more in technical details of how to get sth. work. I'm not developing a game itself that's a difference.

If anybody has any problems with Razorjack they should contact me.

If anybody thinks it is funny to impede our progress by flaming or anything he should contact me, I'll make sure your life will be a living nightmare.

You'll see what we're doing in less than three months :D

In the meanwhile, people could make themselfs useful by finding some extra programmers, using Razorjack's list
