Turok 2 Trailer (Oettinger Games)
« on: May 23, 2012, 08:12:43 am »
Hey there,

I did a Turok 2 Trailer and it's up on YouTube. I figured, that there may be some Turok Fans around here. Help me getting better clicks and becoming more popular. :) And don't forget to subscribe if you liked what you have seen.

If the audio is going to be German, make the whole thing German, but with optional English subtitles. I noticed you wrote "log onto oettingergames.net" in English, rather than German. Consistency is key :eng101:

Just constructive feedback :squidly:

"log onto oettingergames.net"

Also, it's log 'into...' ;)

But as I mentioned before, I will take the time to sort out the grammar and spelling (for the English part) as soon as my exams (and, finally my year, as well) are over.

And, just a suggestion, but; wouldn't it be a better idea to make the trailer in English, as well (I mean, the gameplay of Turok II you showed in it)? May appeal to a bigger audience, seeing as English is the n°1 language in the world ;)

I think the problem is that naums' copy is in german, and he doesn't have one in english, and I would guess that he made the clips himself. Of course, if there's language selection, that negates all of what I said :-P

I know he made them himself. I kinda just automatically assumed that his copy was multilingual =P

log into? Are you sure... I though the Mythbusters say "log on to mythbusters.discovery.com to see more" ... blabla

Yeah, It's the N64 Version in German and we Germans are the only guys in the worl who get their games censored (yeah! (ironic!!)) - that means in turok 2 was the blood scrambled to pixeljunk and colored green/blue and violett - anything but red. It's not possible to change the language within the game neither the n64 Version nor the PC Version. the PC Version doesn't install anymore on Win7 SP1 so I'm pretty fucked here. Uhm... I made subtitles in English for it with the Youtube notifications tool (I hope I've translated it correctly).

Consistency... it just sounds better in English than in German. "Loggen Sie sich bei wwwoettingergames.net ein, wenn Sie mehr sehen wollen". pretty damn long. I want Oettinger Games to become international... I added a first game review in English recently :) ... but I guess it would really be smarter to go the German way here. ^^

Thanks for the feedback.

in English, we say both "log in" and "log on." "Log on" is better when you want people to visit a website, and "log in" means to type in username and password. (at least this is what I observe)

I didn't realize how long it would be in German. What if you say "Loggen Sie sich bei oettingergames für mehr," is that bad grammar? I can't remember; it's been a year since I studied german
And what if you replace "Loggen Sie sich bei" with "Gehen Sie an?"

uhm... some basics: to log on => einloggen ; log on to => Loggen Sie sich ein. When I say "Besuchen Sie"  (Visit) it'd be good, but the part with "For more" is still missing. Well... I will think on something ... for it will be a little time now until the next video.

Regards.

So wouldn't "Besuchen Sie www.oettingergames.net, für mehr" Work? Or is saying "für mehr" bad?

Anyway, if I couldn't help, I hope it works out for the best :squidly:

As you can see in the video it's a 2-liner.
"For more log on to
www.oettingergames.de"

It's gonna stay a 2-liner. eg:
"Besuchen Sie
www.oettingergames.de"

It kinda sounds stupid if I put it that way:
"Für mehr besuchen Sie
www.oettingergames.de"

The "Für mehr" is out of place or at least sounds for me out of place. As I said, I will think about something ... if you (all) could do me a favour - if you are on Facebook please add Oettinger Games to your subscriptions and click the "like"-button, if you like me/us in what we are doing. subscribing on Youtube - I hope you've all done that :D

Thanks.

Hey folks. I did yet another turok-video. Well... I just wanted to pretty much say "thanks" to the Acclaim devs, who will never watch the video, but the thought counts, doesn't it.

Thanks for watching. Every "like" helps Oettinger Games to grow a little more.
