Fan Art!
« on: April 04, 2007, 12:40:49 pm »
Submit your fan art here (i.e. No concept sketches or sceenshots!). To give an example below I drew up what I imagined as a struggle between a brave marine and a high-ranking Unknown soldier (with heavy mechanical mods). The Unknown has the marine in a compromised position, but if the marine can get through the pain and aim straight (he is just nicking the Unknown's right arm with many stray bullets flying too wide, if you can't see it so well) he should finish him off ^^ Enjoy!

BTW Dunno where this topic should have gone, so move it if you can think of a better place. Also delete the FAN ART post in the news section as it is wrong and no one partakes in it.

Is this purely M2 Fan art or M1+M2 Fan art?

:P I Think i'll draw something

(I wish I could just draw stuff with my mind, it allways looks so good in my head. Stupid un-educated hands...)

Yes it is certainly M1 + M2, it's just that my entries will mostly be M2 because 1) I suck at drawing mechanical things and 2) I am used to drawing the unknown by now :P

Also, when I said no screenshots up there, what I mean is you can't just have a basic ol' screenshot fresh from the screen - you can, however, photoshop a cool looking screenshot by maybe making it 'pencil sketch' or inverted colours (again, it says my spelling is wrong...) or something as long as it looks artistic and/or very cool.

Also, things like either simple 3D models (especially if you colour or texture them and make a nice backdrop) of machines or a detailed 3D model in a dynamic kind of pose or a duel or something would be very nice :D

I know how you feel :D I get cool images in my head and then I go to draw it and I keep getting the perspective wrong or something stupid and I rage quit and don't draw again for another 18 months :P

Start out by trying to trace images like ones you wanna draw, like machines pics if that is what you want to draw, but try tracing pretty detailed ones and be sure to include as much detail as you can. Also try some with odd or 'in action' perspectives. After a while you will get used to drawing those kinds of lines and finding that kind of detail :P Well that's what I think anyways, never payed attention in art (and never drew/painted/sculpted the stuff they wanted us to... who wants to draw and paint a bowl of bananas and apples :/), but I don't think it can be bad for your freehand drawing abilities anyway :P

Yeah, they get angry at us for using 'u' and then my American roomies were giving me shit about not pronouncing 'r' in so many words because of my accent :/ (e.g. the city of Cairns is pronounces Cans, but the 'a' is voiced kind of like a the a in air ^^). Make up your mind, either you don't mind extra letters or you do!

Yeah, I know it's off topic, but IT"S MY OWN POST, MY... PRECIOUS. I shall do with it what I like!

Also, Americans put "Z's" instead of "S's", and pronounce "Z (Zed)" (Ze-bra) as "Z (Zee)" (Zee-bra).  :megamonocle:
