Well then, the majority vote is on making the site (or at least the forums) compatible with dial-up users. This does not mean, however, that we can't make a separate enhanced site. This summer I could probably put together two separate cool/not-as-cool sites.

That's not how I read it ^^

Anyway, yeah I get your point. I think the main site should be flash and fancy, and the forums should stay pretty tame. Good impression with the main site (people only have to see that like once) while keeping the forums accessible ^^

Wow, that image took forever to load.

Anyway, I meant with the compatibility/two-site thing, not with the pimp up the site thing. We can still make it cool and make it compatible with dial-up users, even if they must be seperate.

Is there a way to detect Internet speed and automatically adjust the site to it? That would be cool :P

The easiest way is to have one opening page asking the user to set highspeed or lowspeed connection, and set a cookie so they don't have to select it again.

I still have my original Machines disks and manual....

Do you use dial-up, Sloik?
It took about half a second for me. (and my broadband is slow as hell...)

Imageshack's speeds are squirrelly, which is why I don't use it. (Plus the fact that I have my own server...)

I am a flash animator and I'd be interested in participating in this project.
Please let me know if I can be of any assistance in developing movies or any other projects.

thanks
Jim

If you know how to integrate flash with PHP/MySQL, we could do much good. :P

You, my friend, are an ass.
I disagree strongly with your opinion, and find it quite offensive, actually.

Stop being such a jerk.
